Experience & Areas of Interest:

Prior to her current position, Trudi was an economist at the Competition Commission of South Africa, the institution tasked with implementing the Competition Act of South Africa. In this role, she worked on one of the greatest challenges facing the South African economy - simply put - a lack of fair and vigorous competition - on various types of cases and projects. She also provided economic analysis on complex competition enforcement cases, present expert testimony at the Competition Tribunal and wrote economic research papers. She is also active on international competition economics networks such as the International Competition Network.

Before entering public service, she performed a variety of management consulting and corporate roles as a senior consultant at Deloitte’s Strategy and Innovation practice and a Senior Associate in the Banking Strategy practice at Genesis Analytics.
