Salome Cisnal de Ugarte
Salomé Cisnal de Ugarte is a Partner in the Antitrust and Competition practice of Hogan Lovells Brussels and the Office Managing Partner.<br><br> Clients come to Salomé for her innovative and hands-on solutions to global antitrust issues. She advises on all aspects of EU competition law, but has particular expertise and experience in global mergers and strategic alliances, high-stakes investigations and complex vertical issues. She has successfully advised clients on phase I and phase II merger cases before the European Commission and coordinated multinational merger filings all over the world. She has particular experience of the consumer and retail, TMT, life sciences and health care, financial services, and energy sectors.<br><br> Salomé serves as Vice-Chair of the Competition Policy Committee of AmCham EU and as Elected Director on the Board of the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA) in Cambridge (US). As Associate Professor of Competition Law at IE Law School, she frequently writes and speaks on issues relating to competition.<br><br> Salomé graduated summa cum laude in law and economics from the University of Deusto (Premio Extraordinario de Licenciatura) and holds a master of laws (LL.M.) from Harvard Law School, where she was an associate fellow of the Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard. She obtained a PhD in law from the European University Institute in Florence and has been a Fulbright scholar.<br><br> Salomé is admitted to practice in Belgium and Spain.
