Canada’s Competition Bureau has announced that it will monitor competition in the retail flyer market for the next year. The announcement comes after the Bureau issued a No Action Letter for Transcontinental’s indirect acquisition of Quad/Graphics Canada shares on February 6, 2012. The regulator explains that it will keep an eye on the retail flyer market because of “the recent nature of the developments in the market with respect to U.S. printers,” specifically the trend of U.S. printers becoming more visible in bids for large Canadian flyer contracts.
